This summer GLG will be hosting 4 weeks of Gaming & Esports Summer Camps. This camp will be focused on team work, video editing, game design, and learning more about the esports industry!
2 Weeks Ages 8-12, 2 Weeks Ages 13-16

BuildIT
GLG is partnering with Shift2, a non-profit organization that gives technology a 2nd chance to be useful! This camp is thoughtfully designed to blend learning with hands-on experiences, while focusing on
a subject that is woven into the daily lives of our youth... technology.

Coding & Game Design
Create a Game!
Ages 8-12
Led by RIT Game Design graduate, Justin Armstrong, your child will learn to program a text based video game using programming language python via Google Collab.
By the end of the week course your child will have a game that you can play and see first hand how creative your child is!
Ages 13-16
Campers will learn how to code Minecraft mods in Java, collaborate together to make a “mod-pack” for everyone to enjoy and play together on the GLG Minecraft server by the end of the week!
All Ages
Both sessions campers will have the change to make mini-games & maps in game titles like Fortnite & Fall Guys to be played with their peers for fun and for friendly competition!

Esports Teams
Learn to compete & collaborate
Led by RIT Alumni, Ben Garvey & current RIT Esports members, your child will learn the basics of esports team organizing, team practice and improve at their favorite games. Titles include Rocket League, Fortnite (Parent Permission), and Smash Ultimate.
Ages 8-12
Game Titles: Rocket League, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros
Ages 13-16
Game Titles: Madden, NBA2K, Overwatch, Fortnite

Video Editing
Learn the basics of video game live-streaming & editing
5 Days of guest speakers from the GLG broadcasting and video editing team, your child will learn the various jobs and skills needed in today’s growing gaming industry.
All Ages
By the end of the week your child will have a video recording they edited of their game play against their peers!
Your child will also learn about best safety practices for online activities.
Ages 13-16
Campers will learn how to setup software and hardware required for Live-streaming! Activities include learning software tools like OBS, NVIDIA tools, YouTube & Twitch!
This activity will not have campers actually streaming to a live audience for safety reasons. Campers can take the lessons learned and live-stream from home or at the lounge after camp hours pending parental approval.
At the end of the week your child will have coded their own game, learned to play in an esport team, and have an edited video recording of their matches against peers!

Drop Off: 8-8:30AM
Activities: 8:30-12 Noon
Lunch: 12-1:00PM, Food provided by Acorn Exchange
Activities: 1-4:00PM

This camp is focused on the following game titles:
Rocket League, Fortnite, Minecraft, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Etc.
If there is a game you would not like your camper to play please let GLG Staff know in advance

FINAL DAY:
On the last day campers will be sharing a final presentation of what they learned during the week
