Coding & Game Design
Learn Game Design!
Age Groups 8-12 & 13-16
Campers will learn game design techniques and lessons by creating a mod in Minecraft.
What is a mod? Anything that changes the base game! We encourage campers to code and use their creativity by creating art assets to go along with the code they developed.
At the end of the week, we will pool everyone’s mod together into a ‘mod pack’ that campers can play together on the GLG Minecraft server!
Each camper will have the chance to make mini-games & maps in game titles like Fortnite & Fall Guys to be played with their peers for fun and for friendly competition! Maybe even win free snack prizes?

Esports Teams
Learn to compete & collaborate
Your camper will learn the basics of esports team organizing, team practice and improve at their favorite games. Titles include Rocket League, Fortnite (Parent Permission), and Smash Ultimate.
At the start of the week campers will be grouped up and tasked with creating a team name, logo and motto. Together they will play and compete against peers in pick-up tournaments and bracket play.

Video Editing
Learn the basics of video game live-streaming & editing
By the end of the week your child will have a video recording they edited of their game play against their peers!
Your child will also learn about best safety practices for online activities.
Campers will learn how to setup software and hardware required for Live-streaming! Activities include learning software tools like OBS, NVIDIA tools, YouTube & Twitch!
This activity will not have campers actually streaming to a live audience for safety reasons. Campers can take the lessons learned and live-stream from home or at the lounge after camp hours pending parental approval.
At the end of the week your child will have coded their own game, learned to play in an esport team, and have an edited video recording of their matches against peers!

If there is a game you would not like your camper to play please let GLG Staff know in advance

On the last day campers will be sharing a final presentation of what they learned during the week
